A Web Content Management System (CMS) is a software application that allows users to easily enter their content into a website without advanced technical knowledge of website design and HTML. Additional benefits include, but are not limited to, allowing multiple users to work simultaneously on their content, the implementation of “user roles” to allow users to modify their content, and a review process where content can be checked before being released to the public.

The Drexel University College of Medicine web pages use an open source product called DotNetNuke, along with third party and CoM-IT-developed modules to provide a "templated" approach that allows for easy-to-use content editing while maintaining a consistent experience for users visiting the College's website.

College of Medicine employees can request training on the Content Management System (CMS) from the Marketing & Communications Department by emailing cms@drexelmed.edu.
