As part of a University-wide initiative to have a cohesive and cost-effective approach to protecting Drexel resources and data, Drexel University College of Medicine Information Technology is pleased to announce that Sophos products will replace Symantec Anti-Virus and Credant.
Please note important dates below:
June 6, 2012 – July 20, 2012: Information Technology will replace Symantec Anti-Virus with Sophos on College of Medicine computers. Sophos Endpoint Protection includes anti-virus/spyware, web security, and other controls to reduce risk of data loss and malware infections on Windows and Mac computers.
Technical Services will be working with department administrations to deploy Sophos using a phased approach.
June 26, 2012 – June 30, 2013: Credant encryption will be replaced by Sophos on new Windows and Mac computers purchased starting June 26, 2012. Sophos Safeguard Enterprise solution protects stored data on laptops, workstations, and portable external media through encryption.
Throughout fiscal year 2013, Technical Services will work with departments to convert computers with Credant to Sophos.
Information Technology is working to ensure there is minimal impact to business operations during this software implementation.
